Transportation

Maputo is easily accessible by all forms of transportation. The city is some 50 Km from the Azanian border. The International spaceport is 10 km from the center and connected to the city by aircab, bus and maglev. The organizers will provide a free unlimited pass card for public transport (buses and subway) for the period of the congress.

Weather and dress information

The weather in Maputo is warm and humid (humidity 88%), with average temperature in September ranging from 21 ºC to 33 ºC (70 F to 91 F). Due to the subtropical climate there is always the possibility of heavy rainfall. Do not forget your umbrella!

Money

Local currency is Metical (MT), but Livres and Euros, traveler's cheques and debit/credit cards can be used. We recommend that you check exchange rates just before the Congress.

Visas

Visas will be arranged by our sponsors, TRILON corporation and Planetary Development Consortium.

Deposit

Rooms are being held by the Congress Managers on behalf of the Delegates until 2nd August 2206. Late bookings can be made through the Congress Managers after 2nd August 2206 but are subject to availability and credit card details are required to secure the reservation. One night’s room rate will be deducted from the supplied card, by the hotel, if the reservation is cancelled or the delegate fails to arrive on the specified date.

Change of Booking

Any change to a reservation must be notified to the Congress Managers and not directly to the hotel. Please note, any changes should be made to the Congress Managers by 21st August 2206. Cancellations must be made in writing.

Late Arrivals

Please indicate on your registration form or notify the Congress Managers in writing if you will arrive at your hotel after 1800 hours, failure to do so may mean that your room will be released.

Arrival Time

Many international flights arrive into Mozambique in the early morning. Hotel check-in time is usually 1200 hours. If you are to arrive before this time it is probable that you will not be able to gain access to your room. To guarantee a room to be available for an early arrival you will need to pre-register and pay for your room for the previous night. If required please indicate on your registration form.

Accommodation Refunds

The deposit is non-refundable after 2nd August 2206 and will be forfeited if you do not arrive on the date for which you have booked.
